New year recap for Adumbration Arts

Adumbration Arts has only been fully up and running since September 2018, but I thought I'd share a precede version of whats been acheived since then and little of our plans for the future.

What we've done in 2018

  • Written a research study proposal.
  • Launched two new art courses in Oxfordshire.
  • Attended Contemporary Arts Research Unit Conference.
  • Initiated Staff development: Counselling Level 4 Diploma to better enable tutor to support learners on the research study and on PCAE courses.
  • Found superision for 'art as counselling' provision.
  • Started to build links with the local community.
What we are planning for 2019
  • Apply for research funding and look for collaborators within the fields of psychology, mental health and education.
  • Continue to build on current classes and introduce new courses and one off workshops.
  • To continue staff development.
  • To showcase and disseminate the work of our students and tutors.
  • To work with local education on all levels. From Home schooling, EYFS and Adult learning, to support both students and teachers with their Art and Creativity Skills.
  • To review exhibitions big and small from various viewpoints or 'gazes'. That of an artist, a child, a bigot, a person in a wheelchair etc...And looking at various aspects, such as curation, audience, participation, tactility, multi sensory and experience.
Whether these aims become realised, are realistic or too far reaching, I'm keping my fingers crosssed for a year that continues to take Adumbration Arts somewhere interesting.
